Particle Baits cover a large number of carp fishing baits, and include maize, sweetcorn, hempseed, carp specific pellets, tiger nuts, chick peas and peanuts to name a few. Particle baits can be devastating as loose fed feedbait or chum, and when presented correctly make a great hook bait that can and does outfish other carp hook baits. Successful baiting up or chumming with particles can cause a degree of pre-occupation to a point where all other types of bait will be ignored. When using particles as hookbaits it is often best to use more than one bait on the hook or hair. You may also want to critically balance or pop-up your particle hookbait, in order for your hookbait to stand out against the loose fed particle feed. Also a very good tip is to fish with a very short hooklength, as the pre-occupied fish will not be moving far between picking up baits. Thus the carp will feel the resistance almost immediately and should bolt away, resulting in an un-missable run.
